If it was possible to create 3D sections where surfaces intersect the sketch plane that would also maintain their associativity, I would buy the Pro / Expert version tomorrow. As it stands, I have stopped using my Personal Edition entirely in favour of Rhino, with no intention of upgrading till I see the kind of enhancements described here. Still a long way to go to catch up with Solidworks, etc, I'm afraid.

I would like to be able to be able to trim/extend lines created by the Project to Sketch with option to maintain associativity in use. Much time is wasted adding constraints which could already be in place.

It is a must to have parametric offset functionality in Alibre. This is very important in order to make the software fully parametric. Now, you need to delete all the offset entities and reoffset if you make a very small change on the part. This is also required for CAM functionality.

In theory one should be able to use alibre to create regions by using "project to sketch" feature, but the problem is the software does not lock lines, arcs, etc to the part, and ones something moves the whole sketch is useless. The other problem is that sketch is in exploded version already and if you just want to project and save then most time you get error messages about disjoint ends, overlap, intersections, etc. Now you try to fix them and you lose time and there is no guarantee that is going to work. It appears to me alibre's r&d does not support cam users. I've seen visual mill integrated in solidworks and that is really powerful, it takes very little time to create regions and you can easily edit them without jeopardizing precision. If you don't have visual mill integrated in solidworks then you can still create machining regions and exported. It works fine. Unfortunately this is hard to do with alibre and some people will say that solidworks cost so much money, however, even rhino can do that, and more..... so there is something wrong with picture. I support alibre and paying for maintenance but I guess they don't support fully their users with fast and accurate features.

I think that this is in the same category. I design a lot of cylindrical (turned) parts, and when I project the profile, I cannot get the outside (CYLINDRICAL/TANGENT) edges. I have to go back and create a reference line or live geometry and either lock it to a point or dimension it to get what I want.

This is really needed. We should also be able to project a hole pattern to a sketch. And, in the same vein, we need to be able to insert more than one point at a time in a sketch.
